Every Island is Different, Even on Xmas Day!
As I see the kids waking up stunned once again Santa has delivered on his promise of bringing presents (my son must have been borderline good or bad this year, though, and just slipped through :) I think of how the gift giving tradition on Christmas Day is very similar to what goes on in the islands each year.
What isn't similar is we have a foot of snow still on the ground in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Don't tell that to the Antiguans, though, as they used to bring sand back from the beach and place in their yards to simulate the white stuff. It's not just the islands which are different, but each island has it's own set of traditions and holiday celebrations which make each not only unique, but one to experience at some point in time.
